a) Candidates are not permitted to begin campaigning until the launch date as determined by Steering Committee. All manifestos shall be ready for distribution on this date.
b) All campaigning must be carried out in a sociable manner.
c) No publicity materials may be affixed in such a way as to interfere with the publicity of another candidate.
d) No candidate may remove or deface the publicity of another candidate.
e) No candidate may send material to postal voters through the post.
f) No two candidates may collude to increase each other’s votes.
g) Candidates may not run as a slate. If five candidates run for all five sabbatical positions as a team but one of the positions was contested and the candidate in the slate lost to someone outside of the slate, all five candidates in the slate would have lost. Either all five candidates would be have been elected or all five candidates would have lost. This could potentially leave the Guild with only one elected sabbatical officer.
h) All candidates must submit a typed manifesto with their nomination form. This will be their official manifesto.
I) The manifesto with a photograph attached shall be duplicated. All manifestos will be randomly collated to prevent any candidate having the advantage of always being presented first. There shall be a copy of each manifesto placed on a temporary notice board, placed in a prominent position in the Guild foyer during the elections as soon as possible.
k) All publicity must be approved by the Vice President Marketing and Entertainment, Vice President Education and Welfare or the President: including posters, flyers, badges, t-shirts, all electronic forms of communication and so on.
l) Each candidate may display up to 20 posters on the designated Guild notice boards and up to 50 posters on other University sites.
m) No poster shall exceed A3 size.
