CODE OF CONDUCT FOR ASTON STUDENTS’ GUILD
i) Actions that break the Guild’s Equal Opportunities Policy.
ii) Personal Harassment.
iii) Causing disturbance to others e.g. threatening or disorderly behaviour.
iv) Damaging or stealing Guild property or possessions belonging to members of the guild.
v) Violence, against other people using the building or any members of staff employed by the Guild.
vi) Failure to obey any reasonable instruction from members of staff or the event manager on duty.
vii) Indecent exposure which might cause offence to others.
In the event of a complaint against a person breaching this Code of Conduct, the Event Manager on duty or other authorised person is empowered: to demand that the person moderates their conduct, to photocopy their Student Card and/or to have them removed from the building.
Members who allegedly commit a criminal offence in their private lives may be in breech of the Code of Conduct and subject to the Disciplinary Procedure where it is felt that the alleged offence either brings the name of the Guild into disrepute, where the behavior of the member has an adverse impact upon the Students’ Guild or the ability of other members to benefit fully from their membership of the Guild, or where other members or employees of Aston Students’ Guild might feel threatened by their presence.
The incident will be noted in the Incident Book and the Membership Committee of the Guild will take appropriate action.
