Marie-Shireen Hadid was elected as the VPFME for the Guild starting from 1st July.

Unfortunately there are very strict rules regarding working in the UK for Romanian and Bulgarian citizens and she cannot work at the present time as either a volunteer or paid trustee officer.

In the meantime Prabhdeep Bhopal, will be employed as a staff member (as this role is crucial to the successful running of our wide range of events at Freshers), he has wide ranging experience as he was the officer last year. This has been agreed by the incoming full time officers.

Marie has applied to the Home Office for a ‘Highly Skilled qualification’ registration certificate to work following her success in her degree; we are advised this process can take some months. Marie is naturally very disappointed, as she could not have applied for this until her results were announced.
