My Experience at the Job Shop
I have been coming to the job shop regularly to find part time work. I feel as if the job shop is helpful and friendly. I arranged several appointments with the job shop. Cathy helped me to create a successful CV. The first appointment I had booked was a CV update appointment that takes only 20 mins. In this appointment I learned the flaws of my CV and I was told that a CV has to show you as an individual, your success. On my CV I updated it completely; it was looking more professional and gaining the eyes of employers.
Then later that week there was a job that had come up in the job shop as a data inputted. I went to Cathy and asked here for the details. I was given the details and also help and advice on how to write a cover letter. Later then I applied for the data inputted job. I was successfully arranged for an interview for the job. From the help from the job shop, they made the CV more profffesional and better.
Then I went to Cathy and arranged an appointment on interview techniques. Cathy was very helpful. She told me the do's and don’ts of interviews; we did some role play for the interview. We practised questions. I was told tips, do's, and don’ts of an interview. From the help of Cathy going through the interview techniques I feel more open, and I felt as I was selling my self to a company. Previously I felt it hard going through the stages of an interview.
Later that week after the interview, I got a phone call and I was offered the job as a data inputted. This was because of all the help from the job shop. They helped me create a successful CV, go through interview techniques, and helped with job success. They helped me gain and a job that I like as a student. They have helped me gain success in the world of work. Without the help of Cathy and all the job shop staff I would have not found a job. I would like to say a thank you.
