Since the beginning of time scholars have deliberated which of the Aston Halls is THE halls of residence, which hall can be THE big hall on campus, which hall will stand tall as the others cower, and which hall should bear the timeless title of Hall of the Year. The Union Executive is proud to announce the answer to this question, and present the trial to end all trials - Freshers’ Week 2012: Battle of the Halls!!
It sounds simple, represent your hall during Freshers’ Week in order to gain hall points, the hall at the end of Freshers’ Week with the most hall points will be crowned victor! But is it simple..? With such a variety of ways to receive points, including sports, scavenger hunts and much more, Freshers will have to apply themselves as a team in a variety of ways… the only way to succeed is to work as a hall.
The rules are simple, only the Union President and Vice-Presidents can award hall points to the score board, and the hall with the most points at the Fancy Dress Faceoff will be crowned CHAMPION! Win each individual event and you will not only earn your hall points, but have your name, triumph and hall posted by the Union President & Vice-Presidents on our social media!!
We’re kicking off our Battle of the Halls themed week by battling out the colours at the Welcome Party on Saturday 22nd September!
Represent your hall by wearing one of the five vibrant colours listed below. We have:
William Murdoch A Block - yellow
James Watt B Block - green
Lakeside - orange
Stafford - pink
Off Campus Residences - purple
Wear them proudly, not only to represent your hall, but also to identify other people who have already moved in the same building!
