► Rent Costs in Birmingham
The amount of rent you need to pay will vary depending where you choose to live:
For the academic year 2009-2010 Please note that for the sake of comparison, all rents have been quoted on a weekly basis. However, the number of weeks of the year in which rent has to be paid will vary depending on the type of accommodation chosen. On Aston's campus in On Aston's campus in standard accommodation £68.57per week inclusive of utility bills. In private halls ( not on the Aston campus) with en-suite accommodation from about £92 to £110 per week.
Sharing a house in a Birmingham suburb such as Erdington, expect to pay about £50 per week plus utility bills for gas and electric and possibly for water.
In the city centre for a 2 bedroom apartment expect to pay £650 to £700 per month for the whole apartment, splitting the rent between two students, plus gas, electricity and water bills.
