Train to Solihull. You can catch a local train from Moor Street Station or Snow Hill Station in Birmingham to Solihull; it takes about 15 minutes.You can then walk from the Solihull train station to the Solihull Public Enquiry Office; it takes no more than 8 or 9 minutes. Turn right as you leave Solihull station and head East towards Solihull town centre. Most other pedestrians will also be going towards the town centre. You have to negotiate your way around a large roundabout though you actually stay on Station Road all the way from the station to the Public Enquiry Office.
Biometrics: Since the introduction on 25 November 2008 of identity cards (Indentity Cards for a foreign national) for all students renewing their visas, you will no longer receive your visa on the day of your visit to Croydon or Solihull. You will have your fingerprints and facial image captured for the biometric details which are placed onto an electronic chip on the identity card. The card will be sent to you through the postal system and will replace your passport visa.
