► New student visas from outside the UK
If you are not currently in the UK and you want to come to study at Aston University, you will need a student visa under Tier 4 of the Points Based Immigration System.
Points
You will need 40 points in total.
30 points will be awarded for the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) number which Aston University will supply to you as soon as you have accepted an unconditional offer. Your CAS must not be more than 6 months' old on the date you apply for your visa and you can not apply for your visa more than 3 months before your course start date.
10 points will be awarded for having enough money in a bank account in your name OR in a joint bank account where you are one of the named joint owners.
You are allowed to use a bank account in your parents' name provided you also supply your birth certificate and an original signed and dated letter from your parent(s) confirming they are your parent(s) and they consent to their money being used to fund your UK studies.

How much money do I need?
►You will need to prove you have enough to pay the first year’s course tuition fees and £5,400 for living expenses.
(In some circumstances you will only need £1,200 for living expenses. Most commonly this happens when you have finished a course of more than 6 months duration within the last 4 months)
► If you have already paid money towards the tuition fees or towards your Aston University campus accommodation, you will need less money.
► Your financial proof must cover a 28 day period
►The proof must be printed no more than one month before the date your application will be made.
►The amount of money you need  must have been in your account for every moment of at least 28 days before the date of application.
► If your bank account is not in the UK, you must include a conversion of the closing balance to Sterling using the OANDA web site and the exchange rate on the date your bank statement or bank loan was issued. You will need to provide an official translation of your bank statement

Documents
►You are asked to provide professional translations of documents which are not written in English and are asked to submit one photocopy of each document as well as providing the original document.
